Spring seems to be here on and off, with a combo of warm weather and also rain. But! Purple alpine flowers! And barlauch (bear garlic) that you can gather to make special pesto sauce with!
I am totally part of the playground mafia now, by the way. I know about half the moms. Point of pride, maybe?
I had a great time with Rubes. We played an intense game of Catan and hiked to Andechs and enjoyed the brewery as well as its uber-Bayerisch cuisine. Rubes made us yummy enchiladas and we walked around the center of town together and made snide remarks about rude Bavarians who push you.
I spoke Hebrew today for the first time in months but it was embarrassing because now brain can only think in German for its “other language” so I had to think about what I was saying with extreme intent.
My parents are coming to visit in a week and I am super excited. They will be in Munich for five days and then we go to Prague with Honza so they can meet Honza’s fam (for the first time!) and explore Prague.
Since Josh has been gone Amelie has reverted back to having a crush on Honza and is into drawing him pictures. When I leave every night she says “Naomi, bitte sag Viele Grussi von Amelie, fur Honza, okay pwease?” She has a pretty adorable way of randomly sticking in English words these days.
Baby Ludwig is going to be one year old in less than a month! We are going to have a little soiree for him. I might make him a silly hat. I taught him how to high-five and clap his hands and the next thing we are working on is blowing kisses, which he is a little confused by because he thinks it is also clapping your hands.
I am going to try and write another short story at some point in the near future.
